i dropped off a few crabs at my cousins house tonight and he gave me 2 crab "traps"(?) they are about 2'x2' and have a few entrances for the crabs to enter but cannot back out of. do i need a licence to use these "traps"? are these traps or are they "crab pots"? im a handliner from way back but i think i could get a few more w/ less effort with the traps i came across tonight... i dont have a boat so i guess i could throw it out from shore and tie a rope to it? im open to suggestions

They are crab pots.If you don't own waterfront property that you can tether them to you can't use them legally Without a commercial license.

I found this bit of info, but not about the license:
CRAB POTS are limited to no more than two pots per person when taking crabs. In addition, two handlines may be used.
UNATTENDED CRAB POTS must be labeled with the name and address of the owner or user.
DISTURBING UNATTENDED CRAB POTS is unlawful, except by the owner, user or members of the immediate family, and officers or representatives of the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission.
