https://www4.wildlifelicense.com/nj/start.php is the link where you put in for your crab pot license.

Crabbygramps is in correct.    An "unattended trap" would be something that you are not actively in site of or monitoring.

An example would be, if a game warden were to roll up in a boat, pull up your collapsable trap with a float and not see you around, you are in violation.

I could have sworn I said "in use of or in site of"...If I run 30 traps, (which I do!!) and as a rule I lay then ten for three rows or two rows of 15, it is not possible to be at all the traps at one time. So if I am 50 yds away tending another section of traps, I am still attending to my total of 30 traps, one at a time. If you like, call "conservation officer lll" Joseph Soell, bureau of law enforcement, Port Republic N.J. and ask if what he told me as I stated to you is correct. Also, like hand lines, there is no limit as to how many collapseable traps are allowed. Thus said, if I decide to run 100 traps, how would you suggest I be at all of them at the same time?? Huh..........30 Days..next case!!! laugh laugh
