Thanks to SOLOW (DENNIS) and Amy. i was back out on the chester today , got out about 9 ish, crabs were running slow at first. then the wind picked up and the water got really rough, and i mean rough our last 2 runs were the best with 5 nice crabs in each run , but then we decided it was better to be safe than sorry so we packed it in, all and all it was a GREAT day ended up with about 3 doz nice crabs before it got to rough for us, and by then we were all soaking wet. love just being on the water with Good friends Thanks again Guys for great TIME.

If it haden't of gotten that choppy and rough we would have stayed , it seemed as if the tide had started moving good and our laste two runs we did good , they were starting to pick up, but oh well next time.

I hit the Chester also on Saturday..didn't get out there until 8:30am..Nice in calm..Crabbed out from Rolphs in 8-12ft..caught 5 crabs. Wind started to kick up, soon it was white cappin..left about 11:30am..Did see one guy back at the ramp that had almost a 1/2 bushel. Gonna try the BO next weekend.

Hey Tattoo what was the water temp down there. It is amazing how quickly things shut down. I think they struggled in the Wye this weekend too. I did not make it out this weekend, hopefully next week.

Good luck if you go out.
Go deeper! Start around the 10' mark out to 15' even set one oe two in the 20's. If it rains and temps (water) is still in mid to upper 60's the jimbo's will move out of the shallower water. Before mudding up for the season. That's why when ya hit warm spell after a cold fron the crabs have a tinge of mud on them. Some of you with a good depth finder that shows type of bottom could actually set line of pots or neck-liner down on that hard-to-soft bottom break. It takes some trial and error but it works. We here follow the depth (in and out) as well as bottom type in fall/spring. In the summer (hot water) the crabs mov inshore and up stream to the heads of creeks and rivers. Good luck when going, watch the wind Tues and maybe into Wed.
