Opti's have been Low E since 2000. Mine do not smoke or smell or anything. 2 cycles will usually out preform 4 cycles everytime. They are in their power curve almost immediately. But they are noisy!

I just got a 2005 leftover direct injection Evinrude 2 cycle. One model year before the E Tech.
It's very quiet. Compared to my last (1988) 'Rude anything is quieter! Runs real well and sips gas.
