On the VA  home page
http://www.mrc.state.va.us/recfish&crabrules.htm
it states you can use 2 collapsable traps/pots as a recreational crabber without a License on a Vessel.  But in the same paragraph it states that from land you can possess 1 busshel per person per day.  It doesn't state anything about how many traps/pots you can use from land.  Does anyone know the "LEGAL" answer to this question?

THanks,

JP

only 2 traps/pots per person unless you purchase the $29.00 recreational crab license.  The Rec. License than allow u to use 5 traps/pot. The limit catch is 1 bushel per person per day.

Recreationally,

If you are on the beach or pier you can have a bu, so can your wife and so can each of your kids.

If you are on a boat you can only have one bu no matter who else is on the boat.

If they could have figured out a reasonable way to enforce the law it would have been one bu per family on the shore/piers.
