You are looking for a spot to crab and want to use 55 to get there, take 55 south til it turns into 47, eventually it will go straight to 47 or left to 347, Stay Straight.. go to light there is a WAWA across from the light make right, run that straight til you hit 553, make right and that will put you in by dividing creek and Wildlife boat rentals

Good Luck

All fishing is exciting if you scale your tackle correctly.  I don't fly fish too much work and I have too many other hobbies as it is.  I fish a 4 1/2 ft super ultralight rod with a 5 oz spinning reela nd 2 - 4 lb test.  Whole rig weighs in around 6-7 oz.
use 1/64 to 1/8 oz lures, spinners etc or bait.  a 12-14 inch trout in a stream with some current puts up a great fight.  I have caught trout up to 18-20 inches on this rig weighing 2 plus pounds.   I have even caught 3 lb smallmouth on that rod and 4 lb largemouth once.  Like you though,
I love to rockfish, flounder fishing, ocean fish for cobia, dolphin, tuna etc too.  I also do alot of freshwater bass fishing too.  to me it is a right of spring to go out on opening day of trout fishing cause there ain't nothing else to do up for another month or so.  then it will be Bass fishin gtime late April/early may then OBX for saltwater then rockfish up here and then crabbing..... back to rockfish, to duck hunting , goos ehunting then deer hunting then football ends and there are these two months called February and march which are very boring....   Grin

I've always used traps like this from shore.  Cheap and easy but you gotta get the main rope.

Here's an ebay link

http://cgi.ebay.com/CRAB-NETS-TRAP-NETS-17-in-2-RING-CRAB-NETS-12PK-NEW_W0QQitemZ360034712589QQihZ023QQcategoryZ23822QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
If you go with that type of trap replace the three(3) strings coming off the traps,(they will break in no time) they are just cotton string ( i use what is called mason's line) small in diameter and strong as [Sam Hill]! Can buy at any Home Depot/ Lowes/ Local hardware store. I also use that for the main line connecting the trap,  very hard on the fingers though. Will try using as suggested (on the site) Macramae< (Spelling) Just my 2-cents. Grin
