They are "blue swimmer crabs" not Atlantic blue crab (Callinectes sapidus). Just thought I would mention they are not the same for the uninformed.

but it is cheaper. I'm not sure where i stand on the blue swimming crab. Many many places use it for soup because it's cheap, and doesn't affect the taste much. But as a meal it's not the same.

As a meal it's not the same..... :(DARN RIGHT, as you aren't pulling backs off of them or cracking claws, guzzling beer and BSing with friends/family. Best thing to do is bypass those liitle cups/cans that come from those places.........AS THERE IS NO REPLACMENT FOR THE ALL NATURAL TASTE OF BLUE CRAB!!!

Not sure how cheap it would be if you went to Australia and caught some of your own. Buddy at work just got back from down under and airfare alone was $1,400.00 plus hotel at $200.00 a night. snorkeled the barrier reef.
cost a small fortune according to him. Now you can always buy some of the canned crab meat and that is half the price of the real stuff. Now, at last it isn't Krab with a K.. you know the stuff made from soybean.... but it doesn't taste anywhere near as good. you get what you pay for.. Jack nice use of greek and latin too... I am always amazed at your comebacks...... Didn't know they taught greek and latin in the school's down around Chincoteague...
just busting ya.. see what you get for admitting that Pinchy was right on the other post....
