thanks man, someone said their not selling commercial crab license's right now at all, is that true and do you know how many pots i can set without a comm license Huh

You cannot set any pots, unless you own waterfront property, and then you are limited to 2 within 100 yards of you property. 

Without a rec license, you are limited to 10 traps.

With a rec license you can run upto 1200 feet of trot line and up to 30 traps.

Be aware, that some or all of the regs will more than likely be changing in the near future.

Last round of proposed regs has it as capped at the number existing as of 12/15/07.  That is the proposed control date set by DNR.

you can still but a lic, you cant get a new one from the DNR
in va, i think the vmrc is thinking limiting or taking away license from people that have not caught x amount.. and that is based on catch before 12/2007.. so..... you could buy a license from someone and then have it null and void... I think!
