When I was at the dealer I asked him about removing the prop while hanging off the back of the boat after running over the traps line.  I'm mentally prepared that it's gonna happen but still may curse a little.

Usually it's wherever the water meets the road but this yr I'll be all over the place in the boat. Usually I was at Dock Rd, Avalon, or the pier off the Parkway by 84 Lumber.  This yr, I'm lost but will hopefully find some decent spots.

Hey,
When you guys go out, what do you do with what you catch? Does anyone sell their surplus for gas money or anything like that?
Also, is anyone in the area running a trotline? (still new, so if this is the only way to do it from a boat, let me know.)

Why do I feel like I am being pantsed in gym class?
Why do you guys typically sell everything? I would figure if you sold your catch you would be considered commercial. Is that not the case? It seems that the MD guys can't buy a commercial license. Is it the same in NJ?
By the way, I will never be a crabber beyond dropping a single trap in the water on the 22nd st dock in avalon with the little guy. I just recognize how passionate you guys are about crabbing and wanted to understand.

Guys, I'll do this one.

Ender, here's the gist of it. As a recreational crabber you aren't allowed to sell your catch or trade it for any services or goods.  Some people have given the crabs away and accepted donations for their time or to put towards gas but technically, it's not legal.  Also, you may here that you are taking money out of someone else's pocket if you sell crabs cheaper than a commercial guy.

I'd like to add that there will be plenty of topics that you will read or start that may blow up into something they weren't meant to be.  Shrug it off let it go and move on to the next topic.  welcome aboard, stick around great group of guys here.
