When fishing to captree this past saturday. Caught several smaller crabs on clams while trying to fish. People around me were catching crabs on their baits like crazy also. Someone came in with a crab trap but we left before they checked it. Older guy in the bait and tackle shop said there are definitely crab in the area now. The larger ones within a week they think

hopefully...I am looking forward to bringing some crab home for the first time!!! It's so nice to have different things to do than is offered in Upstate New York

I'll be going out to the Captree docks right after Memorial Day. Went last week and it was still spider crabs, leopards and greens, but the blues are comin'. I can feel it.

I think I'll stick with the Wye, until August that is...

Went last week and got the first blue claw of the season, a 4 1/2" female. And if I don't see another spider crab all season it'll be too soon.
