Hi--I was under the impression that Dicks Landing in Bayville was gone, but I just read 2 conflicting reviews.  One said "I just went crabbing at D.L's......'  another one said 'I'm glad its gone ..."   Both were dated July '08.  Anybody have some definitive info?  I'm planning on going crabbing soon, where, I'm not sure yet....
Thanks!  Fred

Dick's was closed last I heard. Trixie's Landing is still there near the park, I launched from it last year. Maybe somebody confusing the two?

Dick's was sold several years back and its now the site of several very large new (I'm sure very expensive) homes. I grew up with him in Middletown NJ and his Dad owned one of the homes next store. He aways loved it, but in recent years the expense was more then I think he could keep up with. He worked last I spoke to him on an oil delivery truck too, to help make ends meet.

Sadly Dick's Landing is no more, but I recently took a photo of where it once was. You can see the new huge house in this rear view shot across the meadow looking towards Barnegat Bay.  I did a lot of fishing and crabbing in this area back in the day.
