Just thought I would post a picture of the knife set.  Maybe Santa will bring me a better camera.

"I found the crab knives at a roadside market along Route 13 North, just North of Laurel, Delaware, not to be confused with Laurel, Maryland. Itís called the Bayside. They sell seafood and produce mostly, and I think they have a few tables too. I paid $8.98 each, which I think is a very good price. Good Luck!" (posted by Dancing With Crabs in the wanted section)

I saw the market mentioned above on my way to the shore last trip.  We are going to stop there in the next week or so and get 4 of the knock offs for everyday use.  If the price above is right and anyone would like a knife or two we would be happy to get them for you.  I can ship them UPS ground for $5.00.  Your cost would be what ever I pay for the knifes plus S&H.

Thanks for the info on the crab knives.  I only have one and paid $15 for it.  They are great for picking and that is a good price. I will go get a set. That market is about 30 min away.   Thanks

Whoa there Mike.  The set shown are almost 1 of a kind.   I was talking about individual, look alike, imatation knifes that Danc'n said were available at the Bayside Market...   The pictures above are a "new" never used set of orginal "True Pro Carvel Hall" Knifes. Cool

Nice Set! I have seen this set along the way.. I think once at Anglers at the Bay Bridge. I have a Cravel Hall standard crab knive I got there. The plant is just on the outskirts of Crisfield Md. and they got a web site. Try Ebay for them too.

Carvel Hall has been out of business for a couple of years.  Here is the tread that got me interested in the knifes.

You know you are addicted to crabs when you have special crab knives that are in a special box with a nice soft liner to keep the nice and safe. They look like jewelry or something Jack. Almost a shame to use them.  Grin

Just used his oyster knife before dark and it works well.He gave us a complete set and I told Shelly to put the crab knives up so they didn't walk off like my last set,she hid them so well we can find them now.  Roll Eyes

I prefer the Carvel Hall knives over the Cassons knives.

A few years back I got a set of original Tru Pro Carvel Hall knives on E bay.
I think I paid $144.00 for 12 knives in a black box.
The picture that Jack posted, I think, is a presentation set of knives.
There are knock offs out there now and there have been pictures posted here. Do a search.
One of the knock offs is by Baltimore Tool which uses the original C H dies.
