Hey everyone,
I'm looking for some public areas to crab with the family.  I am close to I-40, US 70 and I-95.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

not really familiar with NC, but the best bushel I ever saw, (and I've seen a few bushels) came from the Nuese River. FWIW

The best crabbing in north carolina is at Lake Mattamuskeet check out carawans on internet or call 252 926 5861 crab will start moving soon  the carawans will tell you when the best time to go

I just looked online.... This is a freshwater lake?..... I'm a bass fisherman and would never think I would go crabbing on the same lake I fish?  Can you tell me anything more about the lake?
