Hey all,

I love recreational crabbing and have tried several different traps, pots and hoops nets that i've purchased both locally and off of the internet.  I basically want to see what has worked the best for ppl over the years, last year i had a 18" green hoop net that probably caught half of all my crabs throughout the season!  PLease tell me what worked and what didn't. My dad and I bought some bridge hoop nets last year that were very disappointing to the least Sad I also had a crab pot (that i would leave in for several hours, not overnight) that caught mostly turtles.  I want to purchase some traps, pots or hoop nets that ppl have had past success with for this season! I'm real excited and I hope all of you are too!

Nick

ps. i was wondering what exactly a $2.00 commercial license in NJ allows you to do if anyone knows? thanks again.

Welcome to bluecrab.info!

The $2 allows you to use two commercial crab pots.   A turtle extruder around your entries on the crab pots will help keep the turtles out.

For the 2$ and the stamp to mail it, it is worth it.

No need to mail it.    You can register for your crab pot license online!
