I'm from Northwest Jersey, about as close to PA as you can get without actually living there, so I'm not all that familiar with places along the shore to go crabbing. Also, I work nights, so I like to stay up on my nights off, too, to keep things simple. With these two facts, I'm left with a bit of a problem.

I have no idea where I can go crabbing at night.

I've found plenty of public places to go, parks and recreation areas, but these usually close at dusk. I even just went driving around the Port Monmouth area one night looking for somewhere, but didn't really come across much. Any suggestions?

I know the pier in Barnegat is open all night. But there is a fishing/crabbing fee once the dock police comes around in the morning.

Stay away from the piers around Lavalette and Seaside, you won't get much there plus they are always packed with renters come summer.

Haven't done much night crabbing from a pier in the Barnegat aree, I am suppose to try it in the Navasink this summer.  I will let you know if there are any good places there I come up with.  Got a coworker who swears he brings home a bushel from "his spots" but I won't be able to check for a few more months. (waters still way to cold up there).

Let me know how your hunt works out and I will do same.
