Joe, I agree, cleaned before cooking is the way to go.  I prefer to layer the crabs, sprinkle a little spice, next layer + spice, etc.  I don't go heavy since the meat is exposed but boy dem crabs is good.  Congrats on your haul.  Nice day for you!
