The Pros on the Severn

Dropped my sailboat in the water yesterday and had to run her from Carr Creek around Greenberry Point to tuck her up past Whitehall Bay. Was very suprised to see the minefield of crab pots laid out before me on the deep side of Greenberry point, about 16' of water. Didn't hit a one, but this is encouraging as this is the general area where I caught bunches last year (albeit in more shallow depth). If the pros are ready, I'd best get ready too. Tim

If you snag a long string of pots sitting tight in the mud you may get whiplash. Snagging crab pots in a sailboat is not a smart sport.

Potters can usually catch before recs. Just because there is alot of pots there doesn't mean there are crabs. He may be runnin 900 pots to get 5 bushel....

Well when it comes to pottin, it don't matter where the pots are, if someone wants to set where your pots are, aint nothin stopping them. If pots are there, chances are they aint gonna pick up and move down the river. At least I wouldn't.
