first trip of the year for me. went out of madison and headed to slaughter creek. didnt get the line in the water till about 10:30am. only caught 6 keepers but saw quite a few small juveniles. laid the line on the creek side of the bridge in 3.5 to 6 feet of water. pulled the line after about 5 runs and headed back towards madison. laid the line by cherry pt. and ran it 3 times and didnt see a crab! unbaited the line and relaxed with good friends, good food, and beverages . then came the storms! ! ran into 2 short storms while we were slowly making our way back to the dock. everybody piled in the cabin while it POURED for about 5 or 10 minutes during each storm. all in all it was a great day on the water for everyone especially for my wife because this was all she wanted for mothers day! ! not much to talk about when it comes to crabs though . probably be alot better next week. good luck everyone.

I also was on Slaughter Creek on Saturday(5/9) but not untill about 1:00.We layed our traps just outside the bridge. We crabbed for a while and picked up around 2 dozen, and then it happend.A thunderstorm hit , we tied up under the bridge and watched it all,got good pics of a rainbow,at one point visability was zero. Then we pulled a few more times and ended up with 39 keepers and around 2 dozen through backs and 1 softy. What a great day on the water!
