Butter man you have got to try it !!!!!    Wink    when you put it in at the beginning it will steam into the crabs  Cheesy but dont be cheap you need to put one stick in the water and two on top three total for one bushels and only use real butter or butter buds and use a whole box of butter buds you will never steam crabs without it again good eats  Shocked oh yea almost forgot i love my steamer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No spice, butter, water or anything can get inside of a crab while it's steaming.  They are a sealed unit.  Only if the crab has some opening due to a broken shell can anything get inside it.

Do crabs breathe and have lungs?  Do they eat and have a mouth?  I would beg to differ with you.

I cooked some crabs the other day, and I added some fresh cilantro from the garden to the liquid. You can definitely taste it in the cooked meat, pretty good too.
