got on the water a little after noon. put over at bellevue. crowded! laid the trotline in a cove Roll Eyes not far from there with no high expectations at all. ran the line 4 times then left to go visit with a bunch of freinds on a beach and have one of our famous feasts Grin then came back a couple hours later and ran the line 3 times. total catch, over 3/4 of a bushel! i was shocked at how well i had done going so late. had an awesome time with freinds and family. break out the trotlines fellas, there hangin on! A fellow once told me late in the season the crabs sometimes will not turn on until late in the day. What you experienced may be the same for early season also. My first runs are going to be afternoon adventures just for that reason. Let things warm to a max for the day. With that being said, I will also try to combine a good flowing tide with the time.
