I will be in Nags Head a week from tomorrow and I would like to try crabbing with my wife and kids. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

You'll have much better luck if you bring or rent a boat.. There are better and larger crabs around Colington than in Nags Head.. If your able to bring a boat Kitty Hawk Bay will be a nice spot for a smaller boat. It's pretty much an enclosed Bay, and there are usually nice crabs there.Plus it's close to Colington Creek, thats also a good spot..But it will be better from a small boat than from the shoreline..

Where is a good place to rent a boat around there? Are there charters available?, my boating skills are pretty weak.
