Name: Potty Mouth (Erik)
Date Caught: Saturday August 19th, 2006
Water: Gunpowder River, MD 8 ft of water
Method: Traps with chicken necks in em
I will be sending this to either Pete Miller or another taxedermist. Pete can verify or I'll get it somewhere to be verified. i have no doubt someone will top it (hope it's me). I took a lot of pictures of him but few were with the ruler the way you want. I froze him alive. I can get him outta the freezer and retake a couple pics. Let me know if you recommend a better type ruler. If I need another pic, I'll send it. This is the biggest crab I've ever caught or seen for that matter. Thanks for the chance to get in the running...

Hey Ken and Erik...nice MUMBOS
...I will give everyone an update.....Al(Fla Chicken Necker) has emailed me with might be a solution to our problems...he has devised a measuring device that he thinks can solve our problems (AL..my apologies for putting you on the spot
)...Al has said that it is accurate to 1/32 of an inch..he will email me with updates and will send me a Prototype when it is finished..
..I told Al that I would pay for any costs incurred, but true to the nature of the people on this forum,Al said the Prototype is on the house
..so lets wait and see what Al has to offer before I can make a decision...please keep posting pictures of your MUMBOS...they are tremendous for all to see ...Rick
Ps..please email me if you think you have a solution as far as a "measuring" device is concerned..my ears are wide open

KC, thanks for the info and the effort. Next year it should pay off if not this season. Thanks to Al for kicking something in towards a solution. That was my personal best crab ever and it was just more fun to put him on the site to get in the running for this year's bigest in MD. I didn't really think that a 9 inch would be a State record especially with that Wye thing down there. The GP is great too. We are blessed to have so many cool rivers to work on and rivercrabs are good eats no doubt. But, anyway, whatever it is and whenever the solution comes, it'll be cool. Thanks KC.
I just noticed, our pics were removed?
That's fine but they were so good lookin'.

Im not really interested in the accolades... just wanted to post my biggest crab so far. Didnt keep the shell. The claws are way to small for mounting.
Pville Chickenecker
Wye River 9/2 (in a storm)
caught in 9' in a spot that Stevo and KC are familiar with
Size - 9-1/8" with the most pathetic claws ever...
