I'm lookin too. I think i'm leaning toward a big ol double wide welded jon with a 25 or so. I don't want the maintence with glass.

I see, I want to learn on boat's with console's for future career's. I wish I had the mony for a 18-20' center console. (welded Jon, or fiberglass)

You can probably get a good deal on a boat at this time of year..check out Craig's List.

Back to kayak crabbing...I used to do it, but it is rough.  How long can you sit on the kayak???  You can't move!   I also have a sit on top...the last time I did this, I was in Vienna, MD by the power plant.  I got out fine, but getting back (with a dozen crabs), I could not get back in because of the current.  I was paddling like crazy but not getting anywhere.  The only way I made any headway was to throw out the anchor as far as I could and then pull my way towards the dock.  It was a LOT of work, but I got back in more quickly than paddling.  I went out in a bad place.
