Just finished Harvesting the Chesapeake: Tools and Traditions by Larry Chowning while waiting the snow to end last weekend.  A ton of stories, history and "directions" for all methods of take in the bay.  There are even a couple of references to Delaware.  Cool 
I rank up there with Beautiful Swimmers, but not as scientific.  Both authors have similar writing styles.   book

Larry also published a book titled Chesapeake Legacy: Tools & Traditions which is also very good (although it only has one chapter about crabbing).

I gotta get that book!! I am almost done reading "Beautiful Swimmers"..but I do have a ton of Chesapeake Bay magazines to read that  I got at an auction cheap...so many interesting local stories in those babies!!!
