I saw a post on the forum about the legality of selling blue crabs caught by recreational fisherman... I would like to know what the law is for New York, I searched DEC website couldn't find anything...

I assume it is illegal to sell any fish/crustacean on the Dec regulation list without a commercial fishing license! anyone know about this?

well, when I went crabbing last week, there was a sign posted on the newburg pier that explained the size of keepers, rules about not allowed to keep females with eggs. and not allowed to sell your crabs. you can also call nys dec and talk to someone about that issue.

newburg pier? where is that? I don't understand why the dec website won't make clear all of the regulations... I'm glad they have a sign they need to put up those everywhere people fish!
