Hey fellow crabbers....... I'm going on vacation in May for 2 wks to Frisco NC. Rented a house right on the sound. Going to try crabbing out of the back yard on the dock and see how it works out. Can anyone help me out with any good spots you might know of. This will be my first time to NC so don't know that many places to go. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Jersey_crab_girl check out the post for Lake Mattamuskeet on here. You are only 45 minutes away and would be worth the ride.  Cheesy

Hey there, how did you do in Frisco? I am going there in
Sept.06 and we got a house (LAnce F7) right on the canal. I have 2 pots and chickennecking I want to do. If you would tell mne how you did it would be great and any good spots. @ years ago we stayed in Salvo and went to the ferry dock across from the lifesaving staion. Wew chicken necked and over two days caught about fifty(plus a turtle), but only 3 legals. Any info would be great. Smiley

I went to Outer Banks last year. Stayed in Frisco for 2 wks from May 14 to May 28. There was not many crabs at all it was to cold the first week. I heard some people were catching a few in the Sound but nothing big. But the fishing was great I have never had that much action in my life. Will be going down this year also staying in Avon this time from May 28 to June 11. A 2 wks vacation is the only way to go!! Going to do more crabbing this time and will be fishing the whole 2 weeks. I also rented a Pontoon boat when I was there last year from Fishing Unlimited in Nags Head. Went out for 4 hours and caught a skate. Fishing from the pier in the ocean was good fishing and even saw dolphins swim by the pier, also caught a lot of baby black fins & hammerhead sharks.

The crabs in the Pamlico Sound aren't very tastey in the summer months, due to the high salt content, they have an iodine taste to them. The old times say the eel grasses cause this... Come up to the upper Beach, from Nags Head North. The crabs are much better, and more of them, call me when you get down here and I can give you an idea where the crabs are being caught at that time... LOL,  Gene   cell # is 252 202 6469

Just being helpful, [Sam Hill], i even give free boat rides while we crab... Thats pretty cheap! for the OBX. Nothing else is free down here... I think my prices are too cheap...  But if Steve wants to put my add up top, he is surely welcome to do so... Wink
