Crabbing has been pretty good in Mystic the last few weeks in the back lagoons/creeks, at least for quantity.  I spend all my time in the lagoons/creeks and can't really comment on Great Bay.

Only real complaint is that I'm getting 10-20 throwbacks for every keeper, and a lot of the keepers seem to be really thin.

My cousin, mother, and I went crabbing in the Mullica River and Bass River on July 23 from about 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.  We had two commercial pots and 7 hand lines.  Bait was blue fish heads and split chicken backs.  The chicken worked the best.  We caught a total of 17 crabs (4 from pots, rest from lines).  Size ranged from 4.5 to 7.0.  Caught alot of little crabs, most of which were immature females (which were returned to the water).  Do not have any pictures of this trip.  Still trying to learn to use the camera.  Took pics of a previous trip to same area on June 11 when we caught 34 crabs, but they did'nt turn out.  This is my first post, so I hope it is relevant to the subject.  Happy Crabbing to all.
