Hi-I am new to this forum, but not new to crabbing, but wanted to doublecheck one tactic, that I have seen being used in NY.

-Is it legal to put a big net across an inlet/canal and just walk up and down and net all of the crabs? I could not find the answer on the DEC website.

The seine net you mean? I know its obviously legal for bait. In jersey I have seen the bucket brigades do it, In my personal opinion I would not recomend it, NY can be D-ckwads about regs.
