Not sure where this place is, but I was pulling in some trash in one of my local
Maryland creeks. In came  a chkn neck box that fell off a comm. boat.

B & B Poultry Co. USA
Norma, NJ. 08347

Now I have know idea where this place is or what the prices are.. All I can say
is I'd sure like to know why a comm. on the Eastern Shore of Md is using necks
from Jersey?

Teddy Lee sells Nothing but B and B if he can get them.  He swears they are the biggest and best necks.  Don't believe me?  Ask him for yourself but be prepared to hear about every crabbing trip he has ever been on.  His crazy days and every other life activity...Bring a folding chair too   Wink

that explains it.. I only buy clams from Mr. Ted every now and then..
I personally love hearing some of his stories.. Especially if there are a few
cold beers involved.. I'll have to stop by and hear the B & B story next..
Thanks for info! Good luck on the water

This place not only sells chicken necks but just about any other type of fish and animal product you would be interested in using for bait year round.

Be careful.   Can't use filleted carcasses of game species as bait.

I know it's not South Jersey but,  since that's where a lot of us suburban Philly area crabbers crab,  I figured I'd add my favorite chicken neck place here.  Stoltzfus Poultry in the Ardmore Farmers market is the home of the famous "Amish Necks" you'll see referenced in some of my reports.   I often like fresh necks and they usually have them available.  It's always best to call a day ahead to order.  If you want to get a 40lb flat, call and ask for Tom and he'll cut you a break on the price.  They tend to be a little more expensive but, the quality is the best I've seen and way cheaper than getting wings and legs.   The convenience for those of us in the area of the main line is well worth it. their link is below.

As long as you can figure out what to do with a 50 lb box of spare ribs, or 100 lb of hot dogs.   Wink Wink

Just a heads up on Moyer Mitchell, there changed their payment policy. Used to be cash or check only- now it's CASH ONLY, due to many people paying with checks that bounced. They still DO NOT accept credit cards. Just went there today to stock up on chicken for the year. Figured many people go there to buy bait in bulk and this could prevent some headaches when purchasing their products. Been going there for years, good people, good products and prices are incredible.

My old boss was let go a week before thanksgiving.  Companies all put bottom line over people these days.  it's a raw deal.

"Quaker Valley is a 41-year- old food distributor based in Philadelphia, PA that services over 2,000 customers from Connecticut to Virginia."

Only 2,000 customers?  I guess this means they do not sell to the general public.  Undecided

I just called Quaker Valley Foods.  They are open to the general public.  Chicken necks are currently $0.499, so $19.96 for a 40 lb. box of fresh necks.  A little more inconvenient for me (a 40-minute drive instead of a 25-minute drive), and then the bridge tolls to boot.  It could be worse.

They will.   I called them today.   I believe, however, my business is now going to go to Stoltzfus...
