I did a quick search on places to crab in/around Stone Harbor but results seem to be more for those with access to a boat... which I unfortunetly do not.

Are there any decent spots from land to crab from close to SH / Avalon?

I know of some of the municipal piers on the bay side but didn't know if any of those are decent spots.
I'm certainly not looking for bushels of crab... a half dozen keepers for dinner would be wonderful.

I thought I saw someone even mention the little bridge of 104th St... I know this bridge very well as the place we usually stay at is very close to there.

I'm willing to travel a little ways but will have little ones with me so I don't want to stray too far.

Thanks,
Brian

We went a couple weeks ago for 10 days - no crabbing but the municipal fishing-crabbing dock at 81st? St. seemed nice. Lots of places there. Go ask at Avalon Hodge-podge tackle shop. Nice people.
Best of luck!

If you want to go from a pier you can also go to scotch bonnet on the way into stone harbor from the route 9. It is a pier you can fish or crab from. Good for the kids also i past their on my way to 81st street marina. It is on the left as you come from route 9 Scotch Bonnet boat marina is on the right. Good luck /JOHN
