Well, I finally got my BW 11' dinghy in the water.  My boat lift has been out of commission since Ivan, and I've just gotten around to installing a new motor and switch.  Goes up and down just as it should, now.  The outboard checked out OK too, with a new 3 gal tank and hose.  Next comes rigging my traps and then look out crabs!  No more waiting for them to come to the dock (Doc?)  Hope everyone has a nice 4th of July!

Glad to here your getting things fixed up after Ivan.  I'm originally from Pensacola, but haven't been back since Ivan.  Will I recognize anything?  My friends say alot of the places and things I grew up with are no longer there. Cry

Well, you know we had a 12' storm surge and it caused absolute devastation to many areas of the city and surrounding community.  I live to the east in Gulf Breeze (Tiger Point, actually) and there are families still living in FEMA trailers in front of what used to be $1 million dollar homes.  I could go on and on, but believe me, no one outside the area has any idea of the catastrophe we experienced almost one year ago.

You are right about not knowing the damage these storms did unless you were there.  I pray that it doesn't happen like that again.  Glad to see you are on the water.
