I Just got back from the north causeway fishing docks at the park there.
There were about 25 lines in the water with the collapsable hoop traps!
They were getting them too and many had a good start (25%) of filling their coolers.
They are all waiting for the tide to change to incomming which should be about 8pm.
The crabs weren't big and one fella I spoke with said he's culling about 80% of his catch between shorts and eggers.
I will check back later after dinner to see how they are doing.
I also want to get back in a couple of days to catch some crabs for me!
I went back after dinner; Crab cakes and a baked potato!
The bite fell off and they were only catching a few with the incoming tide.
I think the morning incoming tide to be a better bite.
Sizes were small too with keepers at about 5.5 inches.
The bigger crabs, about 6 inches were all egger females and they were all good about releasing the eggers.
I did see one small Stone Crab that I think was kept.

We use to rent rooms at the motel right there and crab all day and night. We would keep a pot steaming in the kitchenette and cook 'em as we caught them. Always caught good numbers, but most were smaller females. But a good time was had by all.
