Went to Thompson again today. After yesterdays stellar catch I was hoping for a repeat but it didnt happen. Dropped 29 traps baited with chicken and cut alewive in the exact same spot as yesterday. In 4 hours we only managed 7 crabs 6-7 inches, no tossbacks. Another guy was setting traps up from us and we left he only had 4. This will be my last trip of the season, gonna concentrate on big rockfish.

There was a commercial guy on here a while back. He crabs everyday he can, said every time he thinks he has em figured out, they fool him.  I always get a kick out of those folks that think they know it all, especially the rec guys that always get 2 bushels every trip out.  Sure you can know where they're supposed to be when... but like Forrest said.. Crabbing is like a box of chocolates, You never know what you're gonna get.  He was talking bout crabbin, right?

I'm gonna look for rockfish, the crabbing has slowed to the point that it isnt worth it to me to travel 2 hours each way for only a few crabs... Good luck if you do go again Grin Grin
