Wood Boat Crabbing

Ignore
« on: November 21, 2011, 03:07:21 PM »

While fishing the MSSA tourn .on Sat our fishing boat broke down, so I decided to give it a try crabbing on Sunday. Put in at high tide at 11am the water was 45 deg, I 'll post a pict of the deptfinder with the with the water temp on it . Put 15 traps in 8 to 10' and 15 more in 6 to 7' . First run 12 keepers and lots of throwbacks, most traps had more than 1 crab in it. Even caught a Jimmy carrying a peeler pic to follow. After 7 run I had 3/4 of a Bu 59 crabs the water got up to 46 deg ! The season not over yet I'll be back next weekend !

Nice Job 59 keepers to include a softee.....I wonder at 46 degrees if they could hang on a trotline? Where in the heck is Slaughter Creek?  MD?
I was tempted to go one more time yesterday with the temps back in low 60's...too many things to do around the house and of course...NFL games to watch...

WTG neighbor. Sorry about the boat problems. At least there was a silver lining. Surprised you still have bait. See you this weekend maybe.
