That's what I said.
no it wasn't you had it backwards, Tom had to get you straight..
Another idea is to just show up at Ron's front door and beg for some of his crabs.......

I've been giving the sooks to a Chinese girl I know. She asked me the other day if I knew where she could get some venison. I told her deer was out of season, but you could probably hook her up with something fresh.

Ran one two years ago at the head of Sheepshead Creek. Won't ever do it again. For 25 baits you might as well run 25 traps and have a zero drop-off rate.

Why should the trotline laws in Nj make sense ?Nothing else in this wacky state makes sense,it has to be the worst state in the union to drive in,the craziest gun laws, hardest state to come up with ID for your drivers license, worst taxes,I could go on and on.I would like to be able to trotline here,as this is going to be the year I start crabbing jersey, but there are MANY other things I'd like to see changed first.

would like to try a trot line from my kayak... Is it ok to use a trot line off the sedges by Island Beach? The regs mention AREAS CLOSED TO COMMERCIAL STYLE CRAB POTS... but I'm a recreational crabber? so I'm OK? also, is there a map of the restricted areas? trying to follow the verbiage on the NJ Regs makes me dizzy... appreciate any feedback

I believe trotlines are also not allowed in the restricted crab pot areas. Remember that the recreational crab pot (aka commercial crab pots) license is the same license as the trotline license.

300 feet isn't vague. It's clear that you can have two up to 150 each, not one connected equaling 300 feet.

Now, now Ron. I don't see where it says you can or cannot connect 2 separate 150' lines together.
That being said, I don't find 2x 150' or 300' worth the trouble.

That's like saying the rules in Maryland don't dictate that you can't connect 9 traps together to make one mega trap.
