Crabbing is in my blood

« on: May 31, 2012, 01:18:58 PM »

anyone know how the barnegat in this area is at the moment?? plz tell me hot. i need to get me some big ole blue claws!! also would just sitting on the dock suffice this early or would one be forced to get a boat? looking for a nice cheap mini vacation this weekend and crabbing really brings my mood up, if no boat is needed that would be great to know.

i know the area well so i dont need to know where to go. just what its like the past few days/weeks

My grandfather was an amazing crabber and passed it on to me. I wish he knew how good I would one day become.

Check the reports section, just recently starting heating up, prior to the holiday it was pretty dead.  Good luck

why would you be thinking im buying realty down there? im 23.. my question... are the crabs active in this area yet? (first poster answered) and if so are they near the docks or will i need to rent a boat..?

basically has anyone seen/heard of/walked up too and asked how it was/second hand reports. people crabbing in the area off of ANY pier

ive been crabbing the area since i can remember. just not this early.

but now that ive found out the my local hudson can be successfully crabbed im waiting until i hear reports about those monsters moving upstream.

but barnegat bay will ALWAYS be a real special place in my heart.

i have crabbing and fishing in my blood btw. its so embedded in my genes or something its so natural to me

ABSOLUTELY! Was crabbing at Seaside today..the docks are hot! Plenty of seasoned legal males being harvested.. couple guys had over 120+ crabs today..  check out "The Dock Outfitters"  you can crab on the docks and also rent boats/jet skis..whatever you want from them..they also provide bait at a small cost .
