If you do not know the area please do not come first light and think you have a good spot. Somebody probably has the spot where you think you are going to lay your gear. My advice to people trying this area for the first time is to come out when you can see where boats are working and set your gear at a respectable distance. Happy crabbing from the Col.

Exactly!  I quoted when I first joined this site that there was a part of the wye river that was better then the rest of the river and this general area is where I was talking about.  Thats why all the comm. are bunched up there.  Except for sundays I wont crab there anymore.  Dont know why crabbing is so good in this general area but it is.
