Moderators : Can you please create another subtitle: NJ Crabbing off Docks and piers. While i know most peopledo go crabbing off of a boat, not everyone does. I think it would be a good idea to add a section that is specifically for dedicated to the people who do their crabbing off a pier.
Please consider this.
Thank You.

Sounds kinda cool.. It could be a combination of all areas, just called "pier pounders".

An Idea for those Land and Dock crabbers to more easily find the information you are seeking is using the SUBJECT LINE so it can be used for searching or indexing. Use KEY WORDS.

Ei.   From the Dock  xx/xx/xxxx     or Land Based  xx/xx/xxxx

This way each section   MD, NJ, NE etc can contain the information on that area - those not from that area can block all areas not interested in.

It is as simple as the Water Based crabbers do when reporting a river  Wye, Chester, GP and so on.

Thank you for your suggestion. It is well thought out and truly worthy of consideration.

It will be a key part of the agenda at the next Moderators Meeting in Las Vegas.

Thank you again and keep the ideas coming......

Memo to all employees: The slot in the wall is for suggestions. Feel free to submit your suggestions there.   It's purely coincidental that the office paper shredder fits nicely in the space directly below the slot, on the other side of the wall.   Grin

I just simply don't think we need yet another subdivision of a crabbing reports area specific to crabbing off of land in certain areas.    Just seems like overkill.

Without judging the need to separate land from boat crabbing techniques, this could be done as a fork of "hard crabbing know-how" - wouldn't need to be done for each region...

There is such a thing called SEARCH.  But it only works if you spell pier correctly.  Grin

I am sorry that you find the search feature insufficient.  I usually look at posts from years past also just to get an idea of what the norm is.  I am not posting this directly at the last poster but, Do some reading guys.  There is enough information in the history of this forum that a dullard can catch crabs.  Stop wanting things hand delivered.  If you want them handed to you buy them... Ronster you are so wrong about what your saying its not even funny!

Have you been talking to my wife?     Roll Eyes

The current forum organization has been in place for years and works fine.   Unfortunately, we can't break down every parent forum into clusters of subforums to satisfy every kind of crabbing discipline, such as crabbing from a dock, from a boat, with traps, handlining, trotlining, with pots, from a canoe, etc because it would simply be too cumbersome.

Okay fixed it , I would not want to spell any words wrong after all this forum is about spelling not crabbing! BTW the search for pier pulled up 5 posts from 2012 Thats great! Not!

You can use the Search cell to find crabbing reports not only by putting in the word "pier" but by searching locations that are usually used for land crabbing, such as the BL Englund power plant pier, Dock Street in West Creek, Corbin City Game Preserve, etc.

Without judging the need to separate land from boat crabbing techniques, this could be done as a fork of "hard crabbing know-how" - wouldn't need to be done for each region...

If it's 'how to' question, it would already be located in the Hard Crabbing Know How section.

If it's a question specific to crabbing to a specific area, like "how much weight do I need on my traps to crab from the Chesepeake Bay Bridge", then it would appear in the appropriate Crabbing Resources section.
