Interesting, thanks for the tip DED.

Add a healthy dose of rock salt to your seasoning mix.. It's an old trick my dad used to do 35-40 years ago.  I always mix a lot of rock salt with my seasoning and it all sticks like glue.

Thanks for the tips. I think i let the shells get a little dry and the spice didn't stick. I usually spray some water on them, just got lazy last time.

I like catching enough to eat hot and have leftovers for eating cold the next day too. I need to do more research to see which I like better. Wink

Yes Flounderpounder, we did ice them in the first few years,we even tried sticking them in the heart which killed them instantly.We had a huge stainless tank which held about 5 bushell and after we filled it with crabs we covered them with ice then water.That's the best way to do it if you have access to lot's of cheap ice,just don't let them chill to the point of death.We eventually found that process to take to long, so we started putting them in the walk in freezer for about a half hour,after making sure they were all alive.A chest freezer will work if you have the room,just make sure they are all alive.
