Being new to the Summerville SC area , 2 1/2 yrs, I have been driving between 15 & 25 miles each way to crab close to Charleston harbor. Well today I was spending time with my 2 daughters and we came across an Ashley river access spot appox. 1/4 mile from my front door and 2 ladies were pulling in bluecrabs on a low tide. DAM , right in my front yard , LOL. I didn't think they came this far upstream, I can't begin to tell you how happy I am, especially with gas going up like it is. I should be going out there soon, I like to take my kids and school started, as soon as I do I will report back. The local townsfolk are trying to keep builders away from this area so maybe If i can get more people down here we can make a difference. Peace to everyone on the site esp. my old NY NJ buds, I miss my home but its beautiful here. Brooklyn Mike.

I'm heading to Florida tomorrow. Be there Saturday afternoon. Can't wait to get there!
They are having a billfish tournament and a backwater tournament on the same weekend!
Weigh in is on Sunday. I'll try and get some pictures to post.
Well I don't have any pictures to post.
It was really windy down here and weigh in was on Saturday; not Sunday!
Not too much activity for the backwater contest. I guess the main event was further south from me. I think the billfish tourney was cancelled or postponed due to the wind and chop on the ocean.
