Hey CG a 9" is a 9" we are equal oportunists here. Besides I have caught males with short points, let someone beat it. If that's a female then it's probably a real record, but I doubt it. Wink

This crab is not a female. I also have other pictures for any disbelivers. As a commercial crabber, I return the females to the water.

7 1/4 inches, just a tad bigger than Doc Smith's (sorry Doc). Caught by Beach Bum on 6/13/2005 on the Indian River (ICW)  at New Smyrna Beach, Florida with topless trap and chicken neck as bait. He put up a [Sam Hill] of a fight.

Steve, I can't seem to get the attached pic on the web site under Crab report (Crab Alley 7/10/05) and under the State Record entry.Can you please post my pic. Oh the pic is of a 9" crab I caught at Crab Alley with Toppless Traps and Chicken necks.
