Put in at Rolph's around 8 30 and headed south. Crabbed with 1000' cn and 15 traps just south of Southeast Creek. Had the line in 12-14' and traps a little deeper. Started with some traps in 9-10' but mostly throw backs so I moved them all out deeper. Caught a bunch of crabs but the big boys were few and far between. We averaged about 15 crabs each run of the line but most were just short. Managed to get a bushel by 11 30ish but like I said, just about all had to be measured.
I took a pic of this one crab that had one heck of a chunk taken out of his shell.

We crabbed Sunday & Tuesday right across the river from where you were.  Must have caught half dozen nice crabs with points broken off and healed. Crabs musta been having a war down there?

I caught several crabs that had been chewed up etc like that on the wye two weeks ago.... like the fish were trying to eat on them when they were soft or other crabs but some had a true bite mark like a blue fish or rock munched them  and I had several on the same day like it never saw that before , but might be MD terrapins also.. as I had caught 7 of that day too....

I too caught a bunch of crabs with points missing yesterday.  More than I've ever seen before.
