You are never more than 90 minutes away from crabbing (in season) if you are within the state in NJ...

That's the road the appears to go uphill and if you are sitting in your vehicle it will start rolling uphill?

Always wanted to try that 45 minutes from me.

No crabbing around there & yes it is true.

Camden and Newark are full of demons and do NOT have crabs near by.

Fixed....

no offense to anyone who lives in the above two "cities".

Clinton road is up my way in West Milford.  Lots of spooky stuff up here. Just another road with lots of history. Nearest crabbing is about 1 1/2 hours south.

i live near clinton road its a few mins away, im in warwick, ny. its nothing really to see, it used to be unpaved and stretched through a big section of no lights or houses ("wilderness" if you want to call it that).
there's stories of murders, cults, the kkk, mobsters dumping bodies, anything and everything pretty much.
Now its paved and the scariness is gone.

when i was in highschool the cool thing to do was to go to clinton road and smoke pot and drink beer and be freaked out. until the cops caught on, then it was dwi city. a few people I know got in a lot of trouble on that road. if its dark and you're on it and see a cop, you're getting pulled over.

that road is nothing compared to others further north, just in the catskills there are dirt roads that you can drive a car on that go over legit mountains.

ie cross mountain road.

now that road is crazy

and its not near any crabbing. maybe an hour to the hudson in harriman state park if you gunned it there

My grandfather was an amazing crabber and passed it on to me. I wish he knew how good I would one day become.

"That's the road the appears to go uphill and if you are sitting in your vehicle it will start rolling uphill?"
There's one of those out in northwest Baltimore County in Soldier's Delight. Been called "Gravity Hill" forever. It's on Wards Chapel Rd about 1/2 mile off of Deer Park Rd. About ripped the door off of my old man's car there one night in the '60's - we stopped the car at the "bottom" of the hill, turned it off, and everybody was sitting out on the fenders with the doors open while we drifted "up" the hill. Problem was the car drifted off to the side a little bit and the bottom edge of the passenger's door caught the bank! Shocked The door was never right after that. I was up there a few years ago and the speed limit sign at Gravity Hill was laying on the ground ( probably knocked over by someone drifting up the hill) Grin. I picked it up, since it was littering the countryside, and it's now the top of my trotline puller. Nothing like memories! Cheesy

People have done studies of the area and have pretty much proven that the whole thing is an optical illusion.

Considering that it was knocked over and damaged they were probably glad I picked it up. Balto. Co. sign shop used to give them to one of the guys that worked for me all of the time to repair the floor in his old VW.
