Agreed!  What I do when I see someone waiting on a spot is go ask him where he plans on laying his gear. If its where I wanna crab then I just go with plan B.

Jetski's racing up creeks, where they shouldn't be at all and shutting down the crabbing!

When your waiting for legal start time to lay and another rec. begins setting early across the area you were going to crab.

I never had a Plan B until Rapp taught me what to do last year.  Find crabman and ask him where I should lay.   Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

OK I have one. When laying and working your line some other guy lays his line exactly parallel to yours just in deeper water. Effectively cutting off your ability to move your line in deeper water when the sun goes over head.  Angry   I mean hey, this is a big river

I hunt a LOT on a boat, crab and fish, so it is year round for me. Saying that though, this(newbie) doesn't bother me at all, "IF HE TELLS YOU HE IS NEW AT IT" At least I'll give him a hand then...What bugs me is the guys that have to get ready to launch "ON THE RAMP"....This is not crab, but it is a pain, and Russ brought it up....

Not much upsets me,I'm in a different mindset when I'm on the water. How I wish I could learn to be in that mindset on dry land, life would be grand.

Never done it from a boat (soon, though!) but I have some years of experience from piers and seawalls... The worst there are the people who think it's OK to pull other peoples' lines. On more than one occasion, I've had to correct bad behavior by asking loudly "Excuse me, is that your line?"

Also when somebody puts in lines/pots right on top of you. I always ask if it's OK to set my gear when it's crowded.

Another thing specific to piers are fishermen who like to use an overhead cast when it's crowded. Seen many a near-miss...

But probably the single most irritating thing I've experienced while crabbing is only catching sponges, juvies, and by-catch. Horseshoe crabs are the worst!
