New to this site but not new to shrimping crabing and fishing the central east coast of FLA.

My stomping grounds are H/C Haulover canal for shrimp all through winter. Been pounding it good all year and now the anual crab run has started. Each year crabs come through the canal starting in April build in June and peak in July new and full moons. Most are smaller the 5 inches point to point but I can dip enough above 5 inches each night for a good garlic crab bake. Most early are non egg females, next month they will start showing there eggs and have to be let go. Each night a few males are also in the mix.

Been the last 2 Fri nights and caught 10 keepers past Fri and 15 this Fri night. Crabs swarmed my shrimp lights late on an almost dead tide. Most were under 5 inches though.

While shrimping this time of year I carry a crab net to dip the crabs that come swimming by. When it is good I will have a net in each hand one for the shrimps and one for the crabs...

These same crabs can be caught in the day time also swimming through up top in the canal this time of year.

Cool site I just wish photos were more easy to post as on my main site Lee noga free shrimping reports you are not limited to photo size.

Large photos bring so much more life to a post.

can anyone help me with posting pics easy here? I read you have to downsize but not familiar with how too.

Very nice report.

I think Photobucket allows you re-size them when you upload photos to Photobucket. Photobucket is free to.

Look in the forum info section.  There are a couple of topics on how to resize pic's...  Cool

Reason yes the bridge is still up and so no traffic coming from the north can get to Bars cove boat ramp at the canal. All trailer traffic must come south.. Looks like the bridge repairs are winding down though so may not be to long before the north traffic can make it to the ramp on the south side.

H/C can have lots of crabs for grabs this time of year but remember they will be on the small side of keepers. Most will be females too/

Thanks all for the downsize info. This is to much work for me at this time. I will play with it soon. I have lots of great photos to share but my Yuku account on Lee Noga free shrimping reports, it lets me post any size photo. I wish you guys had the same. So easy and brings bigtime life to a post....

Anywho may give another shot if work lets me next Fri. After all it is Fathers day weekend and I should be allowed to do something even if it is getting eat up by the bugs in a canal at night..

See ya fellas.
