I'm a Maryland crabber, that is leaving for Topping VA for a well deserved vacation end of July.  My only problem is I'm leaving during the prime time crabbing season on the upper bay in MD where I live.  My question is if the crabbing is good down on the Rappahanock River in late summer?  I have not seen many reports for the Rap. and I'm sure the higher salinity in summer isn't great for crabbing either.  I'm only asking because, I don't want to drag all my equipment/traps down there for nothing.  I will have my boat and can easily run up river if needed.  Any help would be appreciated.
