Fall of 87 had two 2,500 foot lines. The sooks were 4 to a bait. Six passes down each line had 72 bushels of sooks. They had to be two foot deep.

Whoa!!!!  Thas freaking amazing!!!

What kind of baskets are you using.  Thats almost 277 crabs a bushel.

Say 2500ft lines baited every 6 feet.  thats 416 baits X 2 lines= 832 baits X 4 crabs every bait= 3,328 crabs X 6 runs = 19,968 crabs divided by 72 biushels = 277 crabs.

Someone give this guy a Crown cuz hes the Crab King

Middle of August 2012, Little Assawoman bay.  600 foot of chicken nets in 2-3 foot of water.  My kids stopped using the net and were pulling the crabs off the line with gloves.  Packed Bushell in under an hour all male crabs.  The best part was they left the line for another hour and the crabs de-baited the line for them.

Around '78 or '79 we were out trolling for rock North of the bay bridge in a 17' bowrider when we came across a line of crabs on the surface about 10' wide and as far as the eye could see to the South.  We had no crabbing gear in the boat so we used the fishing net to pull in a net full, which was fun to get the crabs out of, dumping them in the bow and sorting carefully with a pair of lock jaw pliers.  Probably had a bushel in 15 minutes or so.

I've searched and searched and have never been able to find any information on crabs doing this and I've never met of anyone else who's ever seen it or heard about it.

Has anyone on here ever heard about something like this happening?

I swear I'm not crazy.
