9th Street Bridge crabbing.
«

Anyone tried crabbing at the new fishing piers on the 9th street causeway? This year or last year...My nieces and nephew will be visiting the first week of July and would be too many on my boat at once (14' smoker craft).
If no good there, any suggestion near OCNJ to crab with 4 or 5 kids (9-11 year old) without using the boat?
Thanks and happy crabbing!

Very tough hand lining from the pier its too high, great place to take kids, I modified a net with an 8ft telescoping pole I bought from lowes. If not you cant hand line from the pier the $ 3.99 ring traps from walmart will do the job nicely though. You will catch them here.

Quick follow up question on the Englund Dock. What is the best way to access this dock? I'm staying with my kids in OC next week and wanted to give it a try.
Thanks in advance!

Just before Rt9 dead ends at the old bridge there is a road on the left right next to the boat yard, make the left on that road then the right at the y and you will see the pier. It is right next to the power plant.

Many thanks Pep. I'll be sure to post reports if I do make it out there.
