Giving it another try, hopefully successful.  I am soaking 5 pots with bunker since last night around 6.  Will be lifting later on today.  I like a good 24 hour soak or 4 to 5 tide changes.  This time I put in shallower water close to some marsh land.  Report will be posted later.

FYI,  are you aware you are only allowed to soak 2 of them IF you have a $2 dollar license?? Apply and register yourself on line. They will give you a certified # that must be displayed on your pot/buoy.

As long as the licensee is on the boat with you.    A note saying "I give my permission for my husband to harvest my traps" isn't acceptable to F&W officers.

I thought you could authorize someone to pull your gear if circumstances won't allow you to (have to check them every 72hrs)?
........or is that just commercial?

At the end of the day, it's not about how many fish or crabs you put in the cooler but about how many memories you put in your life and the lives of your "mates".

You actually need to call F&W when that happens, you can't just give someone a note.

5 traps produced only 6 keeps in a 40 hour soak.  3 hours of hand lines only produced 2 crabs.  I noticed some crabs swimming on top with a female below them so I think they still aren't ready to be caught..

Really?  Bull?   I have a 28' Grady and I drop and retrieve my pots with myself, brother, wife and kids.. Each has a license.  And if we don't use my Grady, we use my brothers 24' Pontoon boat.  Who said anything about walking  with me to the bay front or river area?

Yea I was thinking the same thing.   Where.

Not that you want someone to steal your traps.  Assume you have commercial license since Rec's only get 2 traps?

He stated earlier that he has family members with rec licenses.
