The Virginians catching females is one reason bay depleted

If Virginia had not allowed their watermen to catch sponge crabs or to dredge crabs in the Winter your crab numbers would never have become so depleted. The poor crab needs a brake with thousands trying to catch him from April to December.

DisAgree 100%.........Water quality has more to do with any life form in the Bay or anywhere else..........Crab and Oyster Dredging has been going on for probably 100 years dating back to the SkipJacks..........Do your homework and stop believing everything you read from the Political based Media...........

In NC you don't want caught with a sponge crab. Any others over 5" point to point is fine.

As long as they are mature, no minimum size required.

May not be the only reason but it can't help
Logged
Each one of us here today will at one time in our lives look upon a loved one who is in need and ask the same question: We are willing to help, Lord, but what, if anything, is needed? For it is true we can seldom help those closest to us. Either we don't know what part of ourselves to give or, more often than not, the part we have to give is not wanted. And so it is those we live with and should know who elude us. But we can still love them - we can love completely without complete understanding.

Yes, which begs the question of what was the intent of this post other then to cause an argument?
